in Monthly Update

There’s nothing special to report in regards to my income and expenses for May. I still need to curb my spending. I’ve been receiving some income from website design projects and from the Google Adsense ads on this and a few other sites. Keep reading this article to see this month’s income and expenses compared to the last two months and last year.

You can also view my account balances as of May, 2004.

Why is there a big gap between your April and May 2005 salary?

Due to the calendar, I received three paychecks in April and two in May. I normally receive two paychecks a month, except for two months every year — 26 paychecks total.

You say that you need to cut back on expenses but which categories are good candidates for that? Or to you mean nickel and dime savings in every category?

I’ve been looking into that very question this morning, as a matter of fact. There’s not much room to wiggle. I need to cut back on impulse buys.

For example. although I’ve wanted a camcorder to replace one that broke ten years ago, I held off buying one until May. It probably wasn’t the best time to buy one, but I figured I’ve wanted it for long enough.

In a new post, I’ll show a table that clearly displays where my money is going each paycheck.
