Weekend Update

I had a busy weekend — despite getting the chance to do some fun things, I managed not to spend too much money.

Besides getting some schoolwork done for my class, I went to New York on Saturday to see a Mets game with my girlfriend. For this, I incurred gas, tolls, and the price of food ($25) at the stadium, while she picked up the tickets for both of us. There were a few exciting moments during the game after the initial rain delay, including an inside-the-park home run and most notably when the Mets won in the bottom of the 10th inning with a full count, two men on base, two men out, and one run down. Cliff Floyd hit a home run to win the game.

On Sunday, a friend of mine was in town, and I treated her to sushi ($30 total). Also on Sunday, I did three loads of laundry ($9) and had a sandwich with another friend for dinner ($5).

I suppose I did spend a fair amount of money, but it could have been a lot worse. I hope everyone had a good weekend and has survived the ninety-plus degree weather if in my area of the country.
