The Ten Best and Ten Worst Jobs

by Flexo on June 14, 2005

in Career and Work

The editors of CareerJournal.com (a division of the Wall Street Journal) surveyed themselves to determine the ten best and ten worst jobs. Their specifications:

… Not in terms of glamour — or just in terms of salary — but in terms of things such as job security, emotional stress and basic physical safety.

The editors determined the best jobs are accountant, actuary [profile], and bank officer while the worst are construction worker, cowboy [profile], and dancer. These results definitely sound like they were determined by editors of a financial newspaper. Their point of view is probably not the same as that of the “general public.”

Other “best jobs” of interest are financial planner and web site manager.

I think insurance agents have it pretty good too. Hire and train staff, lease support services for them and let the commission checks be deposited automatically.
