Start Saving More

Want some quick ideas for saving money? Bankrate (via Yahoo) gives us 15 ways to squeeze your budget. Most of these I already do, while some could use a little more work.

Here is one that could afford more attention from me: Create a budget and track your spending. I track my spending but I use only a very basic budget. I could expand this, but I’m not sure if this would help me make a big improvement (or any improvement).

The others either don’t apply to me or I’m already doing to some extent. I treat my saving like a bill, paying myself first every paycheck. I don’t watch much TV and I’m not affected by advertisements. I don’t have a mortgage so I’ve nothing to refinance. I don’t drink coffee and I already participate in my 401(k) to the extent I can afford to.

A great source to help stretch your budget is a website I have been using lately called groceryguide.com.
