Personal Income Statement, February 2006

As promised, here is my personal income and expense statement. Putting this together helps me visualize where my money is coming from and where it’s going. Read on.

I included February 2005 for comparison with last month. This year, March is the month for that. The “Other Inc, Bus” income account includes some longer-term contracts, so although I received the cash now, some is for services over the next few months.

I’m saving about $50 by planning my meals better and occasionally preparing my lunch early and bringing it into work. I can do better if I more diligently bring in those lunches.

My household expenses were high due to some purchases including clothing for work and new networking equipment. The wires around my apartment were starting to bug my girlfriend, so I went wireless.

Nothing else seems out of the ordinary; in fact, it looks kind of boring.

Just noticed this—I only spent $16 on entertainment. That’s unlike me, but I guess I’ve been pretty busy.

4 for federal, 2 for state. I’ll reduce federal to 2 in April.
