Personal Income Statement, March 2006

in Monthly Update

Like I mentioned earlier, March was a good month for income. Here’s my income statement, which also provides a sense of how my cash flows.
Income and Expenses: March 2006

Last year, the month of March was difficult, with a large car insurance payment and unreimbursed education expense. This month, I paid more than usual to the government in the form of taxes, and that does not include the results on my 2005 income tax calculations. I’ll finish them tomorrow, and hopefully I won’t owe much.

My expenses in March were high, and if this had been a month with average income, I would have have been in bad shape. My dining expense has gone up while my groceries expense has decreased. This probably means I wasn’t shopping as efficiently as possible, and I still eat too many lunches in my company’s cafeteria.

Flexo,
Why the drop in household expenses? I assume you went on vacation, which lowered groceries, too (besides the company cafeteria), right?
It looks like a very nice month.
Have a great Sunday,

Making,

In February, I had higher-than-average Household expenses due to purchases in the computer/electronics subcategory (cable modem, wireless accessories) and in the clothing subcategory (found some good deals on much needed officewear). March’s spending in the Household category was a little more normal.
