Weekly Blog Round-Up

While I’ve been away from my computer most of this week, I’ve been out of the normal blogosphere loop. Here’s what’s been going on in the MoneyBlogNetwork and beyond.

Jim at Blueprint for Financial Prosperity was scammed out of some money by Carl Grossman. Free Money Finance hates rebate offers, as do I.

Mighty Bargain Hunters picked up cheap recorders (the musical instrument) and is considering buying a Yamaha soprano recorder at some point. The recorder was my first musical instrument and it’s a great way to get started. I even continued to play recorders throughout college in a medieval/rennaisance recorder ensemble. Those bass recorders are awesome.

Ricemutt over at AllFinancialMatters has some comments about buying diamond rings. This FatWallet thread may be helpful someday… and Five Cent Nickel is not happy about so-called convenience fees.

Tricia from Blogging Away Debt — now at its new location — has reduced her debt to below $30,000. Congratulations! If the struggle to get out of debt is your thing, check out Debtspiration, a blog listing inspirational quotes about getting out of debt. Kira at Penny Foolish thanks her family for the financial advice they’ve provided over the years.

This weekend, I’ll be visiting Unionville Vineyards for a tour and wine tasting, then seeing a Mets game at Shea Stadium. Monday is the last day of my vacation, so posting should return to normal next week.
