Welcome to Consumerism Commentary and the 16th edition of the Carnival of Business. If you’re new to this website, feel free to read about me and this blog and peruse a collection of articles from the first half of this year. There were a number of submissions this week, and below you will find all those pertaining to business without any spam.
Unfortunately, I was close to completing this compilation and I accidentally clicked in the wrong place, resulting in my composition window closing. Therefore, rather than the word counts and comments I planned on including, you’ll get the basic information with only a smattering of comments. I have vetted the articles for quality and as of this posting, you won’t find spam or get-rich-quick schemes here. I also haven’t included articles that were not directly related to business. If there is a more appropriate Carnival for a submission, it was not included here. Here we go.

Marketing. Jim Logan presents The Issue Isn’t Whether Or Not Your Business Should Blog. Jim has revised his earlier thoughts and now believe all business should be involved in e-commerce, not just those whose customers “traditionally” purchase the business’s goods or services online.
Career. Jeannie Bauer presents How A Bad Boss Improves Your Career posted at Bouncing Back. I’ve had bad bosses, and I have also found there is more to learn from them about interpersonal management.
Customer Relations. Supermom_in_ny presents Blockbuster Customer Service Nightmare! posted at Getting Out of Debt. Here’s a bad experience with clerks that is as upsetting as any of Kevin Smith’s stories.
Business Income. Free the Drones Blog presents Using E-Bay to Supplement Your Business.
White-Collar Crime. Tracy Coenen presents Woman gets prison time for stealing from employer posted at Sequence Inc.. It sounds like she’ll be punished more than CEOs who manage to steal millions of dollars. The lesson here is if you’re going to commit a crime, you better be well-connected.
Career. Brian Kim presents How to Find What You Love to Do. Brian says it’s not that hard to determine your passion if you set your mind to do so.
Benefits. David presents Giving incentives to employees..it’s not just the salary! posted at The Good Human. Here’s a good description of the many benefits companies can offer their employees.
Productivity. David Maister presents Start the Day Off Right! posted at Passion, People and Principles. Like Christine Kane’s submission above, David says the attitude you bring to work sets the tone for your productivity for the day.
Entrepreneurship. Benjamin Yoskovitz presents 5 Things I Never Forget After 10 Years as an Entrepreneur posted at I Got News For You. Benjamin has run a web and software development business and has a few tips for entrepreneurs.

Thanks for all the useful articles. My problem is not having enough time to read all that I want to read. So I end up filing everything away for when I have more time. Well, we all know how that goes.
Any suggestions on how to manage the information overload? I’m swamped everyday.
