Money Magazine has named the best places to retire:
* Walla Walla, Washington
* St. Simons Island, Georgia
* Prescott, Arizona
* Holland, Michigan
* Williamsburg, Virginia
The study digs much deeper and further rates locations within the United States based on retirement amenities or necessities such as most tennis played and most hospitals, among others. Bethesda, Maryland and Union City, New Jersey come out on top for those two categories respectively.
If you want to retire amongst lots of older people, you’d make a good choice in Tamarac, Florida. If an affordable home is your only retirement desire, settle down in Reading, Pennsylvania.
The study doesn’t seem to consider retiring to the road (staying mobile) or retiring outside of the United States.

I live about 45 minutes from Holland, Michigan and can vouch that it’s a great place to live — especially in the summer. The winter’s can be a bit cold and snowy though. ;-)
I want to retire to Walla Walla, Washington sheerly for the pleasure of telling others I’m from Walla Walla, Washington. Is there any phrase more fun to say than Walla Walla, Washington?
I love Holland Michigan. My father lives in the area and we had our family photos done at the Holland Beach this year. It was awesome! I would love a vacation home here.
