Kiplinger’s Article: Must-Read Bloggers

Kiplinger's Must-Read BloggersEarlier this month, I welcomed readers of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine, as Consumerism Commentary was included in an article entitled “Must-Read Bloggers,” amongst a number of several very worthy blogs. I’ve scanned in the pages and included them at the bottom of this post. For some reason, Kiplinger’s editors in their infinite wisdom decided not to include the article in the online edition of the magazine. One would think an article about blogs would be a perfect candidate for online reading and browsing.

Nevertheless, here are the blogs mentioned in the article. Some I haven’t read before, and others are among my favorite investing blogs.

* The Buffett Blog
* Consumerism Commentary (You are here)
* Controlled Greed
* CramerWatch.org
* Dear Economist
* Footnoted.org
* Freakonomics (A Flexo favorite)
* Fund Alarm
* Kirk Report (A Flexo favorite)
* Mad Money Machine
* Pfblogs.com (note: I do not support pfblogs.com, link goes to Pfblogs.org instead)
* Random Roger’s Big Picture (A Flexo favorite)
* Seeking Alpha (A Flexo favorite)
* StockBlogs
* 10Q Detective
* Thoughts From the Frontline

The article also mentions the Carnival of Personal Finance. Here is the relevant excerpt:

Many investors, particularly young ones, use blogs to document their personal quest for financial security, complete with running tallies of their net worth. The sheer number of these blogs makes it hard to pick a favorite. Happily, the authors of many of them share their best ideas weekly in a compedium called the Carnival of Personal Finance. It is hosted each week by a different personal-finance blog. You’ll find a list of past and future Carnivals, as well as links to a vast network of personal-finance bloggers, at Consumerism Commentary. [Ed. note: The Carnival schedule now has its own website, at carnivalofpersonalfinance.com.] By the way, Flexo who writes Consumerism Commentary (and claims to be a 30-year-old man), reports that his net worth is $51,030, up from $21,248 in July 2003.

For the record and to clear up any confusion, I not only claim to be 30 years old, I actually am 30 years old. My latest net worth updates are here. To read the full article, click on the images below.

Well done! Well done!

I actually don’t read most of the others, but I’m not into investing really. I think that’s why I like your site so much. It’s got a nice balance of articles on a wide variety of PF topics and not just investing and uncontained avarice.

Thanks, everyone! Yes, I try to keep this as much as a hate-free zone as possible. :-)
