Weekly Blog Roundup

Here are some of the articles I’ve enjoyed this past week from the MoneyBlogNetwork and beyond.

Mighty Bargain Hunter picked up a roll of the George Washington Presidential $1 coins earlier, as I did yesterday. I opened one roll and left the other intact. The new coins look like cheap game tokens. I’ll try to use them in transactions; I wonder if I’ll get any funny looks from cashiers as very few people know about these new coin designs.

Dave Ramsey gets on JLP’s nerves. Free Money Finance shares thoughts on owning a home with no debt on $33,000 a year.

Five Cent Nickel warns that frequent flyer programs are accelerating expirations. Blueprint for Financial Prosperity notes that PayPal is offering security keys for account holders.

Blogging Away Debt was able to easily improve her credit report by getting a higher credit limit on a card with just one click. J.D. from Get Rich Slowly says it’s OK to splurge sometimes.

Sun points to an FTC report analyzing the most complained-about topics. Money, Matter and More Musing compares the “stop spending” attitude against the “smart spending” attitude.

Finally, I’ve started a new service for those who want a free personal finance blog. Check it out if you’re interested; it’s super simple.

You got a roll already? They’re not supposed to be released until February 15th, I thought.

I actually got a roll of 2000-P Sacajaweas, by the way. A cashier at one of the places I spent one said that it looked like I had just made them!

mbh: The banks usually get them in early if they pre-order the rolls… and I would guess that not every teller knows about the Mint’s official release date.
