The Carnival is Up!

Rather than reading a ton of personal finance blog entries today, I was running around the office trying to get work done. Now that I’m home, I can relax and read through the contributions to the latest Carnival of Personal Finance, hosted at Tired but happy. Here are some choice selections at first glance.

* Five Ways Balding Gracefully Can Save You Time, Money, and More. My hair is starting to get thin, and I’m not very happy about it. I happened to be talking about this very subject to someone today, and she suggested I consider plugs. Plugs?!

* Picking Stocks is a Waste of Time. “The price of General Motors (GM) stock at the end of 2006 was the same level it was in 1963, split adjusted. That’s right, except for dividends, GM stock didn’t go anywhere in more than 40 years.”

* Moves That Cost Me More Than $1,000 Each. When it comes to reading blogs, I enjoy the personal stories much, much more than “how-to” or “advice-for-a-general-(average)-audience” articles. Here’s a perfect example of what makes blogging a great medium.

* My included post was Amount Charged is Less Than Estimate: Psychology Involved?

Check out the rest of today’s Carnival, starting with Tired but happy’s picks for Editor’s Choice. For more about the Carnival of Personal Finance, see the Carnival’s home base, not too far away.

Glad you enjoyed the stories Flexo! I had a long day at the office too and just got home. Now I’m off to check up on the goodies from the carnivals as well. :)
Oh and about plugs…. well I think that would be a bit uncomfortable don’t you think (in more ways than one)? I still suggest to shave it all off at some point and grow a nice goatee. That can look pretty hot! :)

Thanks for setting up these Carnivals. They are great.

I disagree that picking stocks is a waste of time. if you know what you are doing it is a path to financial freedom.
