Speaking of which, my friends were visiting DC from NYC and had no idea that zones were the norm here. They overspent on cab rides around town. I felt so bad I drove them from Arlington back to their hotel and to the train station so they wouldn't have to catch a series of cabs. (ok really I just wanted to squeeze in some more time with them.) $225,000 is a lot of cab rides.
