Sorry to reply you so late.

Specific examples for me would be :-

a) My family’s first budget (after 23 years of marriage)
b) Our eliminating various expenses without any impact on lifestyle,
c) Review of our loans and taking concrete steps to pay off these loans early, and
d) My personal favourite, specific and concrete plans to get out of the rat race.

Everyone of these steps were initiated after advice and motivation from entries in various blogs, including this one, Consumerism Commentary.

You can try reading, say, ten blogs a day, and I can almost guarantee you dramatic measurable changes by this year end.

I personally feel realization and admittance to the fact you need financial transformation is a first step.

The next is about taking action – which is what I found this article do very well in sharing HOW to take action. :)
