Thats a pretty good from BestBuy really.

I have a Toshiba HD DVD player that I bought in December not too long before HD DVD died. It came with 5 free movies all of which I like. I checked the Best Buy trade in center and they quoted me a little over $49 for my player and 5 movies. Its not a bad offer but for me the 5 movies are worth at leaast that $49 to hang on to the HD player and movies.

Id say do it, why keep an obsolete technology when you can actually get cash for it. Yeah it sucks to have some of the money down the drain, but its better than ALL the money down the drain.

That's a great idea by Best Buy. I'd say those HD folks are getting a real deal because the technology will be outdated very, very quickly.

Then again, it's like Best Buy is just giving you $50 off of a new machine, which they are making a healthy profit on.

Good job from BB.
