I’m a heavy user of Quicken, so I’m considering signing up for the “beta test program” of the new version that will be released later this summer. If you’re approved for the beta test program, you will receive a link to download an early version of Quicken 2009, a work in progress released to a sample of users who would ideally provide feedback.
You can expect bets releases like these to contain bugs, so if you’re concerned about your data integrity, you may not want to sign up. Once you convert your Quicken data to the 2009 formats, you won’t be able to turn back if you decide the program doesn’t work as well as expected or if you don’t like it.

Intuit is currently seeking applicants who are interested in participating in the Beta test of Quicken 2009 for Windows. If you would like to be a part of our Beta team, we invite you to apply.
This is the beta test of Quicken 2009 for Windows. Testers will be expected to use Quicken 2009 for Windows as their personal finance software during this beta period of 3 months, report any problems encountered, and complete specific tasks that provide feedback on the product.
Before you apply please note, those selected to test will be expected to:
- Start testing when notified sometime in the coming weeks
- Provide data files and logs when requested
- Install the product (desktop products) or access the product (web-based products) and use it
- Submit bug reports at the tester website
- Complete specific testing tasks through Summer 2008

Thanks for sharing this. I beta test software fairly often (usually Microsoft) and had wondered if Intuit had a similar program. I’ve signed up; hope I get in!

I signed up for the upcoming Quicken Financial Life for Mac beta several months ago, but have yet to hear anything back.

I called Intuit last week and they said it should be available THIS WEEK (Sept. 29 – Oct. 3)... but they also said there were no guarantees it would be released this week because they don’t have an official launch date.
