But I do file an extension every year. I need the extra time! Agree with ThinkingFinance, e-filing is the best. I started using it a couple of years ago and can't imagine filing taxes the old way. No surprise, considering we all are extremely busy people and it is hard to find time to do them. Never mind, that our financial situation is by no means simple and includes itemized deductions, investment income, charitable contributions, etc.., a nightmare. E-filing is the way to go, and use tax preparation software like TurboTax or H&R Block Online. As a fellow New Yorker, I procrastinate on my taxes.
