Editor’s Note: Thank you for your interest, this offer expired and is no longer available.

Most American own multiple credit cards, sometimes as many as ten. Is this overkill, even though credit cards can be valuable tools? Perhaps. For anyone who optimizes credit card rewards, while trying to minimize the typical effect of increased spending when the method is plastic rather than cash, owning one credit card isn’t enough. Using good credit to take advantage of lower rates and higher rewards, while maintaining responsibility in spending, is how diligent people can maximize their rewards, and in some cases, significantly improve their own personal finances. Blue Sky from American Express® is a great place to start.

Blue Sky from American Express® offers cardholders a great travel rewards credit card. Unlike other travel rewards credit cards, this card allows cardholders to redeem rewards on any airline, using any website.

Virtually every purchase earns rewards points on the Blue Sky from American Express. The breakdown is simple as it gets: you earn one point for every dollar you spend on eligible purchases with the card. While that might appear to be a flat 1% rewards system, points on the Blue Sky from American Express go farther than that. For example, you can redeem 7,500 points for $100 statement credit toward eligible travel purchases such as an airline ticket, hotel stay, or car rental, making each point 33% more valuable.

Here’s an added perk, currently Blue Sky from American Express is offering a welcome bonus of 7,500 bonus points after you spend $1,000 in qualifying purchases within the first 3 months of card membership. Those bonus points are redeemable for $100 statement credit toward any airline ticket, any hotel stay, car rental or cruise. However the welcome bonus offer is not available to applicants who have had this product within the last 12 months or any other Consumer Blue Sky® Card account within the last 90 days.

The Blue Sky from American Express also includes a nice introductory offer of 0% intro APR on purchases and balance transfers for 15 months, after that the APR will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate and is currently 17.24%- 22.24% based on your creditworthiness. This card also rewards customers by not charging an annual membership fee, making it a strong option among travel rewards programs.

The Blue Sky is a simple and solid travel rewards credit card that provides consumers purchasing power with excellent perks. As with all card offers make sure you review the terms and conditions and any restrictions before you apply. Terms and Restrictions Apply. Before booking your next vacation, consider signing up for the Blue Sky from American Express and begin earning rewards toward travel options of your choice.

i keep getting offers for this card, and it seems like a decent, but not great, option. i simply do not travel enough to add a card of this type to my mix.
