A few years ago, my company was put on alert for a day thanks to the supposed discovery of a terrorist plot. The CEO announced a number of new security measures to be put in place. It looks like they’re at it again and this time it’s financial websites that may be targeted in an unorganized “attack.”
The threat of lost business during a denial-of-service attack is not quite as terrorizing as a bomb threat. I suppose this is the “new age” of terrorism.

Terrorist threat, scaremongering, tomayeto tomahto.
The problem is that if someone wants to do damage, it is fairly easy to do without a whole lot of sophistication. It isn’t something that is going to be going away anytime soon.
