Other than the idea that high gas prices supposedly encourage research in alternative energy, I'm happy to see prices going down in my location in central New Jersey.  My last fuel-up on October 30 was at $2.38 a gallon, almost a dollar less than a gallon on September 10.  (I keep track of my fuel-ups on Fuelly.)

How much are you paying now?

I paid $2.73 per gallon today.  It had been around $4.60 at its highest, so that is certainly better.

I paid $2.39 a gallon yesterday in North Jersey, but I've seen it as low as $2.19 (at a cash only station). I take public transportation to work, so the sky high gas prices didn't affect me as much as a lot of other people. I was surprised that the price for my monthly bus pass didn't increase this summer. I'm not complaining though  Wink

The gas station I drive by on the way to work read $2.129 this morning.  I'm pleased to see this after enduring $4.399 this summer.

I still have another few days before my next fuel-up, but I saw $2.35 on the way home this evening. Not bad. That $2.99 gas guarantee deal that Chrysler offered as an incentive earlier this year isn't looking so good anymore.

Wow, less than $2? I was psyched to pay $2.169 just outside Baltimore yesterday. By my house (closer to DC), it's around $2.40.

I know, I was a bit shocked to find it that low too.

Filled up for less than $45. Haven't done that in a LONG time

I pumped yesterday here in CA and the price was $2.42.  Ironically, it was the same gas station that 8 or 9 years ago was 99 cents a gallon! Wink

Almost two months after this thread started (yeah I need to push the forums more and build some traffic) I'm looking at prices around $1.419 these days.  You can see my details of every fuel up on fuelly.com.
