Today, Google will launch Google Spreadsheets, a web application within the Google Labs “playground.” This might be a great medium to share financial calculators and the data I include on my net worh and income statements.
ZDNet says the service will be able to import Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. Excel allows the user to create intense formulas; I’d like to see if Google Spreadsheets will be able to handle an equivalent for Pivot Tables as well as graphing capabilities.
Of course, advertising will eventually enter the picture. How will ads be incorporated into spreadsheets? I guess we’ll find out at some point.
Update: Sign up here to become a tester of the new Google Spreadsheets.
