ING Direct raised the interest rate offered on their savings accounts to 3.0%. Unfortunately, it’s still below Emigrant Direct‘s 3.25%.
However, if you include ING Direct’s bonus ($25) for opening a new account, depending on your inital deposit you may beat Emigrant Direct’s interest yield. If you want the $25 new account bonus, just contact me. (My contact info is in the sidebar.)
Full disclosure: You get $25 and I get $10 for referring you, and ING Direct reports that income as interest. Also, this deal probably won’t last forever. ING Direct recently ceased offering a similar referral bonus for home equity loans, so if you’re considering it you might want to act soon.
