If you are looking to accrue thousands of American Express Membership Rewards Points, there is about one day left to qualify for a good deal. If you sign up for the American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card before the end of April 27, 2010, and if you spend $1,000 in the first three months, you will qualify for 25,000 bonus points. These points can be exchanged for an airline ticket or gift cards.
You earn at least one point for every dollar you spend on the card, while earning double points on gas and groceries and triple points on airfare. If you spend $30,000 during the first year, American Express will award you an additional 15,000 bonus points. In the first year of using this card, during which you will not need to pay an annual fee, you could earn 40,000 total bonus points in addition to at least 30,000 points for your everyday spending.
This rewards program is one of the most valuable available, and the rewards do not expire.
I was just notified about the 25,000 bonus tonight; otherwise, I would have mentioned it sooner. If this deal is interesting to you, take action now and apply for the card before the bonus offer disappears.

I got 50,000 points from Amex last year and I found them one of the least valuable. Certainly less than one cent per point, so without the bonus(es) one would be better off with a standard, 1% cash back card.
Full disclosure please, paid ad or public service?
No one paid me to write the above. I heard about an offer and thought it might be of interest to some readers. Consumerism Commentary is an affiliate of American Express, but the company has no editorial influence over what I choose to write about. We may receive a small commission for approved applications.
Thanks Flexo. I don’t bemoan the need to make a buck. Blogs aren’t free. As your post on teaching kids about advertising advises very wisely, I’m simply interested in discerning what the message is trying to convince me. Is there a list of your affiliations somewhere on the site?
Unfortunately, I missed this offer. It’s down to 10,000 sign up points.
One of the best things you can do with these points if you have them, is to transfer them to a partner airline. There are many to choose from and in a lot of cases they transfer on a 1 point to 1 mile basis. I think they are much more valuable when you consider this.
I hope the 25K promo comes back!
