		<description>Interesting. I wonder how many people run the different tax scenarios to see where the best benefit is. I always try to run different numbers depending on things like my IRA contributions, extra mortgage payments, etc.</description>

You might want to edit your post.  Not all of the items you mention contribute to the 2% floor.  Many of them (mortgage interest, state taxes, and contributions) don&#039;t have a floor at all.  The entire amount for those items is deductible.</description>
