It’s another week in May, so it’s the start of another week of giveaways. This month, Consumerism Commentary has embarked on a project I am calling Giveaway May. Every weekday, I will be giving away at least a $50 gift card, and most days I will have a partner or sponsor to help enhance the prize.

Today, I’ve teamed up with Donna Freedman from Surviving and Thriving and MSN Money. Donna also writes for Get Rich Slowly and has been a guest on the Consumerism Commentary Podcast twice. Donna had a great idea. With the Memorial Day weekend approaching — as well as summer vacations — many people are preparing for travel. That often entails buying gasoline for fueling cars as families and individuals plan to move from point A to point B and back again. The cost of gas is high this year, so a $50 gift card for gas, while it won’t go as far as it would have gone a few years ago, will still go far to help anyone afford their summer travels.
