My FSA doesn't allow condoms to be claimed - but basically anything OTC marked 'medicated' is covered.. including my blistex medicated lip ointment, woo!

I looked into doing Lasik with it, but I actually save more out of pocket money putting it on my care credit to be paid over the year then the tax advantages from being taken out of my biweekly check.

For massages, if you do it at the chiropractor's office - it's covered ;)

I didn't know about the transportation costs & will definitely try that so I can claim my last $60.. if not, I will definitely be stocking up on allergy & cold meds!

"Viagra. Viagra and similar medications are prescription drugs, so they qualify as legitimate medical expenses for your FSA dollars. Combine this with some of the other items listed here, and you’ll be set for a good time."

LOL...I don't know if it was intentional but the last line cracked me up. ;)

Our FSA allows orthodontics expenses. This is what has prompted us to sign up this year (just wish I had known about it last year when I paid thousands for my first child's visits)!

I actually used my FSA to pay for lasik eye surgery. When you take into account a little negotiating and that I payed pre-tax, I essentially received more than 30% off.

Some of those I wouldn't have considered deductions. But if the doctor says 'must have' then I guess so. I don't participate in our company's FSA because if I don't use all the funds, I lose out. My family's medical expenses don't add up to much (luckily). Perhaps, if I look at the prior year's medical costs and base it on that... might be worth it.

So, if I need a massage because I am stressed, I just need a doctor's request - Sweet! ;)
