I’ve actually have this card for a few years now, back when it gave 5% on gas. There is special promotion out there for 5% until March.

But regarding the cashback, mine is credited every month…are you sure it’s once per year?

I have gotten two offers from them via mail within the last month or two. I actually didn’t think that my credit was good enough (it’s a little light. not “bad”) and thinking about getting it if I can. Generally speaking, when you get this kind of mail from them, what are the chances of being accepted or is it a cattle call type of deal with these mail outs?

Amex is not the type of card company that just mails out pre-acceptance letters unless there is good reason to do so. No it’s not a guarantee that you will be accepted however, it is usually a pretty good indicator that you will. :)

Best regards.
